Blood Drive in Cromwell
If you were given the chance to save a life would you do it? (Hopefully you answered yes to the above question) Well, your chance is coming up soon… The Cromwell mobile blood drive is on soon… Where: Cromwell Presbyterian Church, 10 Elspeth St When:
Tuesday 8th October, 7:30am-12:30pm
Wednesday 9th October, 7:30am-12:30pm
Appointments recommended – appointments help to minimise your time away from work or home and help us to know when donors are coming in and what blood types to expect. Ways to book your appointment to be a Lifesaver… • Book on the NZ Blood Service Donor app • Visit our website Cromwell blood drive bookings • Call 0800 GIVE BLOOD (0800 448 325) If you don’t make an appointment, but then decide on the day that you want to give blood, you can still use one of the methods above. Or, you can pop into the Cromwell Presbyterian Church on Tues 8th or Wed 9th and we’ll do our best to fit you in amongst the other donors (but I definitely recommend booking – especially if you have to travel to Cromwell). Eligibility criteria applies – please read the attached Blood Donor ELIGIBILITY Criteria or do the online Am I eligible? quiz to see if you can give blood on Tues 8th & Wed 9th Oct. If you have recently been overseas, please check the Donating After Travelling Map to see if there is a stand-down for the country you have just visited. If you have a specific health question about donating that you want to check before you come in to donate, you can either call 0800 GIVE BLOOD (0800 448 325) and ask to speak to a nurse or you can contact me and I will ask a nurse here at the Chch donor centre to call you. First time donors under 25 need to be a certain height and weight to give blood. Please check the online quiz or the attached Height & Weight chart to see if you are “big enough” to give blood (this is especially important for women under 25). Please note: the deferral period after a tattoo or piercing has recently been reduced (you now need to wait 4 mths instead of 6 mths after a tattoo or piercing).
